New Wadden Sea World Heritage visitor centre in Lauwersoog open

This weekend the doors officially opened to the new Werelderfgoedcentrum Waddenzee (Wadden Sea World Heritage Centre, WEC) in Lauwersoog. The WEC is the new home to the Pieterburen Seal Centre as both seal rescue and educational facility. Visitors had the chance to experience the unique Wadden Sea Experience and take a look inside the new, transparent seal hospital with ten seals currently residing there.
The WEC exhibition focuses on a sustainable future for the Wadden Sea region. Visitors discover the World Heritage Site through an interactive experience with panoramic views, a visit to the new seal hospital, laboratories, and excursions through the unique landscape.
