A delegation of seven persons from Gochang County, Republic of Korea, visited the Wadden Sea World Heritage Site between 10 and 20 May 2025. The study tour was part of the ongoing cooperation under the Memorandum of Understanding between South Korea and the Trilateral Wadden Sea Cooperation, originally signed in 2009 and renewed in May 2023.

Gochang Getbol is one of the four component sites of the UNESCO World Heritage Site “Getbol, Korean Tidal Flats.” The county is planning to establish an international-level Getbol World Heritage Centre. The delegation, representing the World Heritage Department and the Ramsar Gochang Getbol Visitor Centre, aimed to learn from the experience of the Wadden Sea World Heritage Centres and to explore opportunities for cooperation with the International Wadden Sea School (IWSS) and other regional partners.

During their visit, they met with leaders of various visitor centres across the Wadden Sea region to exchange knowledge on building design, exhibition development, education, and sustainable tourism. Besides at the Common Wadden Sea Secretariat, their tour included visits to: NABU Nature Centre Katinger Watt, Multimar Wattforum, Husum National Park House, Beltringharder Koog Visitor Center, Myrthuegård, Tirpitz Museum, Vadehavscentret, Wadden Sea World Heritage Visitor Centres in Cuxhaven and Wilhelmshaven, WEC Wadden Sea World Heritage and Seal Centre, Afsluitdijk Wadden Center, and Ecomare.
