Trilateral Wadden Sea community mourns the passing of Adi Kellermann

It is with deep sadness that we acknowledge the passing of Adi Kellermann, a highly respected member of the Trilateral Wadden Sea Cooperation and a key figure in the advancement of scientific monitoring and assessment of the Wadden Sea.
As a senior scientist and coordinator for ecosystem research and monitoring at the German Federal Environment Agency and at the Wadden Sea Schleswig-Holstein National Park Authority from 1992 to 2004, Adi was a driving force behind the development of the Trilateral Monitoring and Assessment Programme (TMAP) and played a crucial role in shaping its methodologies and trilateral data handling as Chair of the Task Group Monitoring and Assessment.
After heading of the science programme of the International Council for the Exploration of the Sea (ICES) in Copenhagen from 2004 to 2016. Adi returned to the Wadden Sea and continued to contribute to marine science and ecosystem research as a freelance consultant. In this capacity, he played a vital role in starting the SWIMWAY Initiative and served as Chair to the trilateral Expert Group Swimway, working on improving the situation for fish in the Wadden Sea.
Adi will be remembered not only for his scientific expertise but also for his unwavering passion and optimism.
Our thoughts are with his family, friends, and colleagues during this difficult time. The Common Wadden Sea Secretariat and the entire trilateral community extend their deepest condolences and gratitude for his invaluable contributions.
