The symposium focussed on communication, education and public awareness activities (CEPA) and on the sustainable management and protection of the World Heritage Site “Getbol - Korean Tidal Flats”.

This weekend the doors officially opened to the new Werelderfgoedcentrum Waddenzee (WEC) in Lauwersoog.

The Wadden Sea Flyway Initiative received 10-month funding from the German International Climate Initiative (IKI) for the project ‘Climate Resilience for Critical Sites for Migratory Birds and People along the East Atlantic Flyway’.

The event strengthened collaboration and enhanced impactful communication approaches in digital outreach in support of protecting the Wadden Sea.

Applications are now open for the Wadden Sea World Heritage Summer School 2025, taking place from 18-29 August 2025.

Children can often explain things much better than adults can.

Every year, tens of thousands of visitors discover the beauty and diversity of the Wadden Sea through guided mudflat tours.
