From 28 to 30 October 2025, more than 200 scientists from Denmark, Germany, and the Netherlands will gather in Groningen for the 16th International Scientific Wadden Sea Symposium (ISWSS).

Despite extensive efforts in conservation, many breeding bird species in the Wadden Sea continue to face significant declines. Predation is considered one major threat.

The analysis raises both concern and encouragement for the future of bird conservation in the Wadden Sea.
