New Video Tells the Story of the Trilateral Wadden Sea Cooperation
The Common Wadden Sea Secretariat (CWSS), in collaboration with its partners, has produced a new introductory video showcasing the Trilateral Wadden Sea Cooperation between Denmark, Germany, and the Netherlands. Since 1978, the three countries have worked together to protect the Wadden Sea as a single ecological entity – an approach that has since become a global example of successful transboundary conservation.
The video illustrates how this unique partnership came to be, reached milestones, and continues to play a vital role in safeguarding one of the world’s most important coastal ecosystems.
Designed primarily for students at secondary level, the video aims to make the history and significance of the cooperation accessible and engaging to the wider public. It will be shown in visitor centres across the Wadden Sea region and used at events and educational occasions to introduce the cooperation to diverse audiences. For this, the video will be made available to partners in all four trilateral languages: German, Dutch, Danish, and English.
With this new resource, CWSS seeks to raise awareness of the importance of international collaboration in nature conservation and to inspire the next generation to value and protect the Wadden Sea.
Partners interested in using the video may contact Annika Bostelmann.
